... I know, I know. Blame my mom. She asked me if I wanted to get one of the frogs the pet store had while we were there yesterday, and when you ask me something like that I'm not gonna say, "I don't want one." @_@;
Isn't he a little cutie? I actually don't know if it's a male or female, and I'm not sure how I'm going to go about telling. It's so much easier to tell with toads. x_X I'm starting to think Hanabi is a female again...
But anyway! This is a type of Pacman frog like Hanabi, but I'm pretty sure this variant is nicknamed "fantasy frog." Its scientific name is ceratophrys cranwelli, if I'm not mistaken. He doesn't look much like a ceratophrys cornuta. He is nameless at the moment, but I'm leaning toward a character name from Final Fantasy VIII or something mythical (considering "fantasy"), but I don't know. If you know some good names from legends and whatnot that might fit this little fella, please do offer.
Yeah, he's totally adorable. ^_^ Well, I say "he" without really knowing... It's so difficult to tell with young frogs. :/ I have four all together: one toad and three frogs. ^^
i saw the most cutest thing today i was at the pet store awaiting for the guy to go out back and get me 4 dozen crickets (4 dozen talk about hungry toads lol) anyways before i asked him to get my crickets he was putting a bunch of abino australian frogs in a tank next to a bunch of fire belly toads!! so i askied him to get my crickets and he left to go out back and i watched as all the frogs hopped in a line to the corner of the tank and squeeze through the little breathing holes to the side with the fire bellies when the guy came back out i told him all the frogs escaped into the other tank and he said they had been doing it all day long since they came !!! he said that as soon as he would seperate them they would all flee and go hang out with there fire belly friends i thought that was soo cute!!! it made me want to buy them all so they could all be happy and play together!!!! lol
I know exactly what you mean about hungry toads. XD We go through about 12 dozen crickets in a week nowdays. I forgot how much pixie frogs ate--especially as babies. Vincent ate 15 crickets in one go today, and then tried to eat my finger through the side of his tank. You'd think he was being starved to death!
*laughs* Aww, how cute. XD That would've been quite the sight. I hope they weren't much smaller than the firebellies, otherwise they might lose some of those Australians. I don't think I've ever seen one of those frogs before, so I don't know how big they are. You could always add them to your amphibian haven later on.
lol they are the same size!!! thank goodness would not have been as cute of a story if one became lunch lol oh yes i go through crickets!!! i wich there was a dif food source for them that was just as easy to get
Definitely not as cute, no. XD Yeah, I know what you mean. They'll eat pretty much anything that moves (including my fingers and my eyelashes and the shadow of my finger... Hanabi bit my finger the other day and it hurt, then Misaki tried to eat my eyelashes because I had her close to my face, and then she tried to eat my finger's shadow XD), but there's the issue of what bugs in the backyard have been walking through and nutritional value, plus I'm no bug expert so I don't know if anything is poisonous and whatnot. @_@; It is, unfortunately, best to stick to crickets, I think. D:
beautiful thing
